Toastmasters Leaning Institute + Club Officer Training
What a fantastic day filled with networking, learning, and socialization! The key note speaker was Clint Cora, speaker, author, and karate world champion. There were several points that immediately stood out to me:
- Instead of just making wishes, I will make totally committed ___________________.
- I should always try to expand my _____________________ each week by at last _____ %.
- I should hang out with others who are highly _____________________.
My answers? Decisions, comfort/10, motivated/ambitious/adventurous… of course, there are a myriad of positive and encouraging words that I could insert above.
I attended 3 workshops during the day: VP Public Relations[1], The Road to DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster)[2], and Judging.
On Being a Toastmaster
The Road to DTM:

[1] – I plan to run for this role at the next election
[2] – My goals are clear and defined: to complete my CL (Competent Leader) and ACB (Advanced Communicator Bronze) in the next 6 months, although I suspect I will need to a) Join another club b) Organize some speech-a-thons to have the opportunity for the requisite speaking engagements.
