YLP and HPL

Now that the Youth Leadership program is well underway, I think it’s time to crack my HPL manuals… The HPL is very much a business course. It will be time consuming; requiring a planning committee, strategic thinking, vision and follow-through. Luckily I have all of these things.

Table Topics

In preparation for a week of Table Topics – taking the role Monday evening, teaching the topic at my YLP on Tuesday afternoon, and likely participating at Blountly Canadian on Wednesday, I watched a number of videos and found a particularly excellent one:

My experience of starting my Youth Leadership program was nothing short of fantastic. I never thought I would be comfortable instructing a grade 8 class on anything on the elements of public speaking but I was immediately at ease with them. More so, I was *excited* to be there, working with them, and answering their questions. It is such a joy to be able to share one’s passion in a healthy, constructive, and mutually beneficial manner.

Goals

Today’s Goals:

- Prepare for my role of Toastmaster tonight (Theme: All Saints Day)
- Prepare for the first session of the Youth Leadership Program tomorrow
- Consider going to the Agvantage Toastmasters meeting tomorrow
- Go through my High Performance Leadership package and start planning
